What are Search Engines?
With so many millions of pages of text on the Internet, how do you ever
find anything? You use a search engine. A search engine lets you enter
key words representing the pages of information for the topic you specify.
The search engine will check its index and immediately display any
hypertext links to pages that contain your keywords. You then just
click on the links that appear most promising. As you can see, there
are many search engines available. Some of them specialize in registering
and listing people with their email addresses. None of these search
engines cost you anything, because they derive their income from displaying
advertisements along with your search results. BACK
