Time and Talent Questionnaire
Financial support is certainly important to vitality, but your personal investment of time and talent is equally vital. Please review the church activities listed below and place an X in those you are interested in. When you click on the button at the bottom of the form, your answers will be e-mailed to the church. Your questionnaire should be returned by February 24, 2008.

Sunday Morning Worship

Serve as a Greeter. At the North and South entrances to the sanctuary greeters extend a warm welcome to those attending Sunday worship.
Serve as a Worship Leader. This person assists the pastor during worship by making announcements, reading scripture, and leading responsive readings.
Serve as an Usher. Ushers help the Church Council seat those who are attending worship and collect the offering. Four volunteers are needed each Sunday, usually for one month.
Serve Communion. The Board of Elders help the pastor serve communion 8 times per year. 8-10 additional volunteers are needed each time.
Serve Refreshments Following Summer Services. After summer services members gather on the front lawn for conversation and fellowship.
Sing in the Chancel Choir. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. Anthems are sung during worship three to four Sundays a month.
Ring with the Hand Bell Choir. The Hand Bell Choir rehearses on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. Anthems are rung during worship once per month.
Our child would like to join Little Notes. Toddlers thru 1st grade sing once per month during worship and rehearse Sunday mornings.
Our son or daughter would like to join the Youth Choir. Youth in the 2nd thru 8th grades sing twice per month during worship and rehearse Sunday mornings.
Our son or daughter would like to join the Interpretive Dance Troupe. Youth between the ages of 4 and the 8th grade dance on special occasions and rehearse Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Christian Education and Youth Ministry

Teach in Church School. Using a selected curriculum, teachers provide instruction to youth who attend church school. The church school year is from September to May.
Our Child to be a Young Peacemaker. Children in the 1st thru 3rd grades meet every 3rd Monday at 4:00 p.m. seeking peace in themselves, the community, and the world.
Help with Vacation Bible School. VBS occurs during the summer for one week.
Help with Youth On Mission. YOM has participated in projects for 18 years. Youth beginning as sophomores in high school to adults participate.
Mentor a 2nd Year Confirmation Student. Mentors help guide the student through the curriculum and help prepare them for church membership. Lasting relationships result.
Join the Puppet Ministry. The puppeteers perform on special occasions and rehearse as necessary.
Join Crossroads. This fellowship group includes youth in the 6-7-8 grades and meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
Join Senior High Youth Fellowship. This fellowship group participates in and out-side activities monthly.

Women's Fellowship

Be an Officer or Circle Chairperson. 
There are 4 circles that meet monthly for fellowship and faith discussions.
Quilt.
Quilters meet twice per week and create beautiful handmade works of art.
Participate on a Prayer Chain. The prayer chain offers prayers for persons in need.
Help Prepare Meals.
WF serve meals for special occasions, church meetings, and following funerals.

Men's Fellowship

Attend Saturday Morning Breakfast. Members gather at 7:00 a.m. on the 2nd Saturday for fellowship, faith discussions, and breakfast.
Help with the Food Resource Bank Project. Agricultural crops are grown locally, sold, and the proceeds given to the Food Resource Bank.
Work on various local projects. Examples of these projects include carpentry and tree removal for families in need.

Other Activities

Drive the Church Van. The church van provides transportation for persons to the church for services and other activities. A valid driver's license is required.
Help in the Church Office. At times the permanent staff needs a helping hand preparing mailing, answering the phone, and other similar tasks.
Join an Adult Discussion Group. This group discusses topics such as parenting, Christian values, and the impact of current events.
Serve on the Board of Elders. The elders meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
Serve on the Board of Christian Education. The board meets on the 4th Tuesday each month.
Serve on the Float Committee. Each year a float is decorated for the Country Fair parade and other nearby community events.
Serve on the Christmas Decorating Committee. This committee beautifully decorates the sanctuary and church front for the Christmas season.
Serve on the Church Picnic Committee. The congregation annually gathers for fellowship, food, and fun. This committee plans the event.
Serve on the Memorial Committee. This committee oversees memorials given to the church and recommends uses of these funds.
Serve on the Evangelism Committee. This committee focuses on out-reach and church growth.
Serve on the Stewardship Committee. This committee oversees offerings, schedules greeters, and is responsible for the time and talent questionnaire.
Serve on the Nominating Committee. This committee acquires candidates for positions on the Board of Elders and Board of Christian Education.
Serve on the Cemetery Committee. This committee oversees the maintenance and management of Salem Cemetery.
Serve on the Building and Grounds Committee. This committee oversees the maintenance of the church structure, parking lot, and the pastor's residence.
Serve on the Planned Giving Committee. This committee oversees the church's endowment fund.
